Insight

Zaria Court was envisioned by Masai Ujiri as more than just a $25 million sports facility—it was designed as a "third space" where sport, hospitality, and culture intersect. For TORI, the insight was to move beyond the physical architecture and focus on the aspiration. Starting in July 2025, before the facility even opened, our goal was to build anticipation and "place-making" energy, ensuring that when the doors finally opened, Zaria Court wasn't just a building—it was a community.

Idea & Execution

As the long-term creative partner, TORI has managed every phase of the Zaria Court narrative, from the "Coming Soon" whispers to post-launch lifestyle sustainability.

  • Pre-Launch Strategy: We developed the initial campaigns that introduced the "Zaria Court" philosophy to the world, creating a sense of ownership among Kigali’s youth and the global African diaspora.
  • Launch & Narrative Crafting: We led the storytelling strategy for the grand opening, balancing the prestige of global dignitaries with the raw energy of the local community.
  • Post-Launch Content Production: We currently manage ongoing content cycles, capturing the daily life of the court—from morning coffee at the hospitality hub to high-intensity 3x3 tournaments and global events like Kate Spade and Giants of Africa.
  • Perception Management: By treating Zaria Court as a lifestyle brand rather than just a venue, we have carefully curated its perception as a premier, high-end, yet accessible "community heart" within Kigali Sports City.
