TORI captured the evolution of the Giants of Africa Festival as it transformed from a sports-led initiative into a pan-African lifestyle movement across BK Arena and Zaria Court. Insight

Centered on the theme “Borderless Africa,” the 2025 Giants of Africa Festival evolved into a powerful intersection of sport, culture, and urban infrastructure. For TORI, the insight was to highlight Kigali's position as a continental meeting point, introducing Zaria Court alongside BK Arena as a new model for integrated African urban life. Hosting global figures like Aliko Dangote and Robin Roberts, the festival demonstrated that the value of these venues lies in their ability to host a nation’s-and a continent’s-collective progress.

Idea & Execution

TORI’s approach balanced wide-angle scale with tight, personal portraiture to bridge the gap between large-scale events and intimate human moments.

  • Multi-Venue Storytelling: We acted as the visual anchor for both BK Arena and Zaria Court, ensuring a cohesive narrative across different environments.
  • Cultural Highlights: We captured headline performances from Kizz Daniel, Timaya, and Ayra Starr, and produced the "Threads of Africa" show as a cinematic fashion film.
  • Community & Identity: Coverage extended to youth forums and civic initiatives like Umuganda, ensuring the "Borderless Africa" narrative felt grassroots and authentic.
  • Platform-Specific Distribution: We optimized high-energy vertical clips for Instagram and TikTok while maintaining strategic, professional positioning for LinkedIn and press.

Impact

By documenting the festival across multiple venues, TORI helped solidify the reputation of Kigali Sports City.

  • Proof-of-Concept: The event demonstrated Rwanda’s ability to host complex, multi-venue cultural experiences seamlessly.
  • Cultural Elevation: Defining visuals, such as the 20-nation parade, reinforced the narrative of African unity and global engagement.
  • Brand Perception: High-quality documentation of the Zaria Court opening and the fashion film elevated the brand perception of the festival and its host city, positioning Kigali as an urban center for African excellence.
